Berks Dominates Lancaster Bible

Penn State Berks won in dominating fashion with an 8-0 victory over Lancaster Bible College Thursday afternoon behind the Beaver Community Center.

Penn State Berks improves to 9-5 (5-2 NEAC) on the year while the Chargers fall to 2-13-2 on the season.

Penn State Berks wasted no time getting on the board when Emily Simmons (Freshman/Ephrata) scored the first of her two goals in the 7th minute of play.  Simmons scored her second goal just two minutes later taking a pass from Brooke Kern (Sophomore/Kutztown) and beat Kirsten Shoemaker giving Berks a 2-0 lead.  Briana Woods (Sophomore/Lansdale Catholic), Alex Volovar (Sophomore/Lower Dauphin) and Mackenzy Dawson (Freshman/Governor Mifflin) each added goals in the first half for a commanding 5-0 halftime lead.   

Penn State Berks added three more goals in the second half for a commanding 8-0 victory.  Kaiti Sassano (Freshman/Pleasant Valley), Shannon Smith (Freshman/Pleasant Valley) and Mackenzy Dawson all scored in the second half for the final tally.

Penn State Berks will return to close out their home schedule on Monday when they host Keystone College at 3:30pm behind the Beaver Community Center.
