Berks Drops Third Straight Falling to Cazenovia


Penn State Berks (8-8) dropped their third straight contest falling to Cazenovia College 94-65 on Saturday afternoon in Cazenovia, NY. 

The Nittany Lions scored the first bucket of the game which would be their only lead in the game.  The host Wildcats forced Berks into 30 turnovers in the contest while out rebounding the Nittany Lions 56-48 en route to their fourth straight win.     

The Wildcats took control of the game early in the first half behind strong play from Colleen Clarke.  Clarke scored 20 points in the opening half as the Wildcats led by as many as 29 going into halftime up 55-26.   

The Nittany Lions were unable to find to build momentum in the second half trailing by at least 24 points the rest of the way.  Courtney Bailey (Senior/Dauphin Co. Vo-Tech) led the way for Berks recording her thirteenth double double of the season finishing with a game high 28 points and 18 rebounds.  Jasmine Harris Kane (Junior/Simon Gratz) contributed 19 points in the loss.    

Colleen Clarke led the way for the Wildcats with 23 points and 5 assists in the win.  Megan McDermott finished with 25 points and 9 rebounds in the game.   

The women will return to action Sunday when they travel to SUNY Morrisville for a 1pm tip off.
