Binder and Harris Combine for 39 in Loss

Steph Binder (Junior/Wilson) and Jasmine Harris-Kane (Junior/Simon Gratz) led the offensive efforts as they combined for 39 of the teams 60 points in a 70-60 loss to Arcadia University on Monday night.

The Nittany Lions would never lead in the game as the Knights held Berks to just 25.0% shooting in the opening half.  Arcadia held a 22-17 advantage with 6:44 remaining in the opening half and used a 13-9 run to close the half and go into halftime up 35-26.

Penn State Berks came out of the locker rooms still having trouble from the field and the Knights were able to capitalize.  Arcadia put together a 13-7 run over the opening four minutes of the second half to build a 15 point advantage.  The Nittany Lions who trailed by double figures the majority of the second half cut the lead to 66-60 with 3:03 remaining but could not get any closer and eventually fell 70-60.

Steph Binder led the way for Berks recording her first double double of the season with a game high 23 points and 13 rebounds.  Jasmine Harris-Kane was the only other Berks player in double figures with 16 points on the night.  Arcadia placed four players in double figures with Kim Milligan leading the way with 18 points while Justine Davis finished the night with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

The women will return to action on Saturday when they host Keuka College as part of a men's and women's doubleheader.  The women will tip off at 1pm.
