Two Second Half Goals Sink Berks

Penn State Berks traveled to Penn State Abington on Wednesday afternoon and fell 3-0 giving up a pair of second half goals in the loss.

The Nittany Lions fall to 1-13 on the season with the loss while Abington improves to 8-3 on the year. 

Abington opened up the scoring in the first half when Elsion Pajollari scored on a penalty kick for the lone goal in the half.  Penn State Abington outshot Berks 12-5 in the opening half but Chris Beatty (Freshman/Ephrata) recorded 4 of his 6 saves to keep Berks to a one goal deficit at the half. 

Penn State Abington tacked on two goals in the second half to blow the game open.  Liam Hopkins scored in the 54th minute and Alix Edwards scored just ten minutes later to give Abington a 3-0 advantage.   

Penn State Berks was outshot in the contest 19-12 while Abington also held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The men will return to action on Saturday when they host SUNY IT at 3pm behind the Beaver Community Center.
