Scott Yarnell will be entering his 17th season with the men's basketball program at Berks. Yarnell opens up the season with a 233-178 (.567) record making him the all time leader in wins in the history of men's basketball program at Penn State Berks.
Yarnell led the 2008-2009 men's basketball team to a 10-17 overall record and into the NEAC Semi-Finals where they lost to eventual NEAC Champions SUNY Institute of Technology. The 2008-09 season marked the fourth consecutive trip to the NEAC postseason.
Yarnell has seen a great deal of success in his 14 seasons with the program his teams have captured 2 Northern Pennsylvania Junior College Conference (NPJCC) Championships and 2 Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference (CCAC) East Championships. This success earned him 5 Coach of the Year honors 2 NPJCC awards and 3 coming as a member of the CCAC.
Coach Yarnell earned his degree in Criminal Justice from
Alvernia College where he was a member of the basketball and tennis
teams. He is currently employed as a State Parole Officer for
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also serves as the Head
Women's Tennis Coach at Penn State Berks.
