Men Cruise Past Cazenovia College 100-68
Penn State Berks (3-8) had nine players reach the scoring column with seven reaching double figures as they coasted to a 100-68 win over Cazenovia College on Sunday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions opened up the game building a 15-4 lead with five players contributing points during the run. Berks held the visiting Wildcats to just nine points over the opening 10 minutes of play before using a 14-8 run to close the gap to 30-22 with six minutes left in the first half. Penn State would close the half on a 19-9 run to go into the break up 49-31.
The second half saw much of the same as Berks would build their largest lead at 87-53 with nine minutes remaining in the game. Adam Fusco (Senior/Norristown) led the way for Berks with 19 points on 8-10 shooting while handing out 5 assists on the day. Vonte Shippen (Sophomore/Norristown) and Adrian Golston (Senior/Norristown) each finished the game with 14 while Kemian Flowers (Sophomore/Wyomissing) contributed a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Cazenovia was led by Darnell Sampson with a game high 20 points while going 10-12 from the foul line. Bryant Winans was the only other Wildcat in double figures finishing the game with 10 points.
Penn State Berks will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Penn State Abington with tip off scheduled for 7:30pm.
