Berks Falls to Division II Kutztown

Penn State Berks (0-6) turned the ball over 27 times and shot just 35.7% as they fell to Division II Kutztown University 96-51 on Monday night at Kutztown University.
The Nittany Lions struck first holding a 5-3 advantage before Kutztown turned up the defensive pressure and coasted to a 15-12 lead with 12:54 remaining in the half. Berks would hang around trailing 31-22 with 8:04 left in the half but the Golden Bears used a 22-8 run to close out the half and go into halftime up 53-30.
The Golden Bears coasted through the second half leading by as many as 47 in the game while holding the Nittany Lions to just 8 second half field goals. Penn State Berks shot just 25.8% in the second half and were outrebounded in the contest 40-34.
Kemian Flowers (Sophomore/Wyomissing) and Adam Fusco (Senior/Norristown) each finished the night with 11 points while Brian Organtini (Junior/Norristown) contributed 7 points in his first game of the season.
Kutztown was led by Ryan Washington, Stephen Dennis and Julius Gray who all finished the night with 22 points.
Penn State Berks returns to action on Saturday when they play host to Keuka College with tip off set for 3pm.
