Cross country competes at NEAC Championship

LANCASTER, PA - The Penn State Berks men's cross country team placed eighth and the women were 10th in the field of 12 teams at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship on Saturday morning on the campus of Lancaster Bible College. (Men's Results | Women's Results)

The men's squad compiled a team score of 223 points, while the women combined for 196 points.

Jacob Conrad was the top runner for the Nittany Lions on the 8K course. The freshman placed 30th in the field of 101 participants after crossing the finish line at 30:34.49. Will Graybill was the next Berks runner with his time of 31:07.53 to place 38th. Troy Seiberling (31:35.40) placed 46th, while Brandon Henriquez (32:37.67) was 52nd. Mihai Sanchez rounded out the top five Nittany Lion runners after placing 57th with a time of 33:03.72.

Amanda Hauser, who has been the Nittany Lions top women's runner in every race this season, had a time of 26:01.39 to finish 11th overall and earn All-NEAC Second Team honors. The 11th place finish was the best on the women's side at the conference race since Jessy Weiss was 10th in 2013. Mikaela Smith was the Berks runner to cross the finish line, clocking in at 27:29.67 to place 23rd in the field of 92 runners. Jordan Bascome (29:43.08) finished 45th and Rachel Hodgson (30:47.83) followed at 55th. Hallie Music was the fifth Berks runner, crossing the finish line at 31:59.07 to place 62nd.

The Nittany Lions will compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship on Saturday, November 12 on the campus of DeSales University.
