SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS
University Senate 67-00 Requirements
A student-athlete shall represent the University in any intercollegiate athletics contest only if the student-athlete has acquired the designated number of credits at the beginning of each appropriate semester (in residence), which is defined as follows:

At Penn State, a student-athlete generally completes his or her eligibility in four consecutive calendar years, but exceptions to extend eligibility may be made for medical or other reasons. Petitions for extension of eligibility should be submitted through the Athletic Department.
Minimum Grade-Point Requirement
UNIVERSITY SENATE 67-00 REQUIREMENTS: A student-athlete shall become ineligible if he or she does not meet the minimum grade-point requirement at the beginning of the appropriate semester in residence as follows:

Progress and Eligibility.
If at any time during the fall and spring semesters a student-athlete falls below full-time status (below 12 credits), he or she becomes ineligible to practice and compete.
Petitions for waivers of conference rules must be submitted through the Appropriate Athletics Administrator.
